Caithness General Hospital

Caithness General is a modern, well-equipped Rural General Hospital with facilities and services including accident and emergency (A&E), general surgery, general medicine, renal, palliative care, diagnostics (X-ray, ultrasound and CT), a high dependency unit, surgical theatres, day case unit, laboratory and pharmacy. The hospital provides consultant-led acute and rehabilitation inpatient care (20 medical and 42 surgical beds), an obstetric/midwifery unit (6 beds) and a range of outpatient services.

Befriending Caithness

Befriending Caithness is a voluntary service that aims to reduce isolation and loneliness in the county by matching volunteers to older isolated adults; our volunteers visit the person on a weekly basis for a minimum of an hour and can spend time getting to know them, share stories, make trips to the shops or even escort them to an appointment.
