MBBS BSc MRCGP
Trained in St George's Medical School London. Dr Rootes graduated in 1996 and worked in hospitals in South London before completing her training in Wick. Dr Rootes became a partner in 2005. She has a special interest in Paediatrics.

Dr Sutherland joined the practice in 2018 following completion of her GP training in Bristol. She is specifically interested in Occupational Health Medicine.

Dr Holden joined the practice in 2019. He Graduated from Dundee University in 1991. He has a special interests in Outdoor Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Dermatology.

Dr Christen graduated from the University of Dundee in 2009 and joined the practice in 2019 after working as a GP in Edinburgh and Canada.
Kirsty joined the practice in October 2019. She qualified from the University of Stirling with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Since qualifying in 2012 until taking up this post she worked in the Acute Admissions ward in Caithness General Hospital. This allowed her to gain vital knowledge and experience with a wide variety of conditions. She has an MSc with distinction in Prescribing and a Diploma in COPD, which she has a special interest in. Kirsty is extremely passionate about her job and is currently training to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. During her training she will be spending time with the Doctors where she will be receiving ongoing teaching and learning as well as studying numerous courses at Masters level. Kirsty is also available to carry out general nursing care tasks.g.
Eleanor joined the practice in June 2007. She is available for general nursing care, for example ear syringing, eye washing, blood pressures, blood tests, immunisations and vaccinations.
RGN, Bachelor of Adult Nursing, Diploma in Diabetes. Kirsty joined the practice in September 2015. She is available for diabetic reviews and for general nursing care.
Mike is our Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, he has a degree in physiotherapy as well as an MSc in Sports Injuries. He has 30 years experience and during his career has been involved with numerous sports teams such as Wick Academy Football Team, Caledonia U18 Rugby Team and the Scottish Ski Team and Physio with the Scottish Institute of sports for 10 years.
Danielle joined the practice in 2020. She is available for blood tests and blood pressure checks as well as ECGs and new patient checks.

Ailie joined the practice in April 2019 and is our Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner. She conducts medication reviews and is available for medication queries, medication reviews, Chronic Medication Service (CMS) initiation, reviews & advice.

Our health care team also includes the Community Psychiatric Nurses and Community Occupational Therapists. The social work department will be able to help you with problems relating to housing and finance as well as caring for the young, elderly or those with special needs or learning difficulties. They are now responsible for the placement of the elderly in residential and nursing homes. Because of the Care in the Community provisions everybody has a right to direct access to the social services through their local Duty Care Manager.
